Dylan Whitesel
My name is Dylan Whitesel. I was a senior at Midlothian High School when we accomplished breaking the world record. I graduated from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in 2019 with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. I was a member of Midlothian’s varsity soccer team for two years, accomplishing the milestone of making it to States both years. In addition to high school soccer, I have played travel soccer since the age of thirteen and was selected as a captain my senior year. Other passions of mine include snowboarding and traveling to various parts of the world. In 2014, I was chosen to attend the highly respected Virginia Boys State at Radford University as a delegate of my high school. A few years ago, my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. She’s been battling it ever since, always coming out on top. I am thrilled to be a part of this adventure with Sanzio. Together, I know this dream of ours will become a reality.
Sanzio Angeli
My name is Sanzio Angeli and I was a senior at Clover Hill High School when we created the Rocket 4 The Cure project and broke the world record. I graduated from the Math and Science Center at Clover Hill High School in 2015. I went on to study at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and graduated in 2020 with a BS in Aerospace Engineering. I was a member of the Clover Hill High School golf team and I am an Eagle Scout of Boy Scout Troop 1893. I enjoy camping and being outdoors, as well as spending time with my friends. Ever since I was a young child, I have always been interested in space travel and naturally gravitated to the hobby of model rocketry. Following my love for rockets, I recently attended the Virginia Aerospace Science and Technology Scholars week long academy at NASA’s Langley Research Center. As a person who loves a good challenge, I am excited to embark on this record breaking fundraiser with my good friend Dylan.
